So You Want to Be an Entrepreneur?
“So You Want to Be an Entrepreneur?” was a powerful lesson that helped me reflect deeply on where I am now and where I want to go in the future. As someone who is still learning, working, and dreaming, this reading gave me more than just business knowledge; it gave me life direction.
Before, I used to think that becoming an entrepreneur was all about having a good idea and starting fast. But now I realize that successful entrepreneurs are not just people with ideas; they are people with experience, patience, and a learning mindset. The article explained three essential areas I must develop before starting my own business:
- Industry Knowledge
- Skills to Run a Business
- Ability to Raise Capital
This made me realize that I don’t have to rush into business just because I want to succeed quickly. Instead, I need to focus on learning from my current job, asking questions, and building relationships. Everything I do now is preparing me for the opportunity that may come later. I really loved the quote, “You cannot be at the airport when your ship comes in.” It reminded me that if I am not ready, I could miss my moment.
I also reflected on my dreams. One day I want to open a training center that offers short courses taught by experts and a small coffee-learning library where people can relax, study, and drink coffee. I even want to give out free drinking water to encourage wellness and care. This week’s reading made me realize that these dreams need time, learning, and strategy, not just passion alone.
As a student who is still improving my English and saving money from a full-time job, sometimes I feel overwhelmed. But this article gave me confidence. I may not know everything now, but I can grow little by little. What matters is that I stay humble, keep learning, and never stop preparing.
I’m truly grateful for this learning.
