How Will You Measure Your Life? by Clayton Christensen

Image
Left a deep and lasting impression on me. As someone who is currently balancing life as a graduate student, a full-time professional in banking, a family provider, and a disciple of Christ, the reflection on how to define success was both sobering and empowering. Three key concepts stood out to me most: Life's Purpose Is Not Just a Career Goal Christensen's message challenged me to shift my thinking. Instead of simply measuring success by promotions, degrees, or income, he invites us to ask: Who am I becoming? Am I becoming a person of integrity, service, and impact? This hit home because I often feel the pressure to perform and provide, but I realized I need to measure life by relationships, values, and contribution—not just by achievement. Your Strategy Is Where You Invest Your Time Christensen said, “Your life strategy is formed by how you allocate your time, energy, and resources.” That made me pause and analyze where my hours are actually going. Am I spending time on what ...

Building a Life, Not Just a Business

Reflection on Week’s Learning and Personal Application This week’s learning experience has been both deeply inspiring and profoundly transformative. It pushed me to reflect not only on how to build a successful career, but more import antly, how to live a principled, purpose-driven life. The lessons drawn from the lives and insights of entrepreneurs like Ken Zolot, Magdalena Yesil, Frank Levinson, and Jim Ritchie reminded me that entrepreneurship is not merely about launching a business—it’s about shaping a meaningful journey rooted in values, vision, and service. One of the most impactful themes was the idea of “Making a Living and a Life.” It challenged me to reevaluate the definition of success. Financial rewards may come, but lasting fulfillment stems from aligning our careers with our deepest values and being intentional about the legacy we want to leave behind. I began asking myself: How can my work serve others, not just myself? This question has become a guiding principle for ...

Creating a life of meaning - Inspire by Randay Pausch.

This week’s reflection on Randy Pausch’s Last Lecture was a deeply emotional and thought-provoking experience. As someone striving to build a life of impact in Cambodia—balancing my education, career, faith, and future business goals—I found Randy’s message especially relevant and uplifting. Link to know more about Randay Pausch: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Randy_Pausch One of the key reasons I believe Randy Pausch was able to achieve so many of his childhood dreams is because he never let limitations define his vision . He didn’t give up when doors were closed. Instead, he saw obstacles—what he called “brick walls”—as opportunities to prove how badly he wanted something. His humility, persistence, and positive spirit were his superpowers. Randy understood that dreaming alone wasn’t enough; dreaming had to be followed by discipline, action, and resilience. That lesson struck me deeply. I absolutely believe that dreaming is important —especially for those of us who come from hum...

How True Leaders Transform Themselves First

Image
Real leadership doesn’t start when others follow — it begins when we change ourselves Becoming, Not Just Doing This week reminded me that life’s greatest achievement is not just checking off tasks but becoming the person God wants me to be . Actions matter, but character transformation matters more. Daily Discipline Builds Destiny Through setting daily habits, I realized that success is not built overnight. It is the result of small, repeated disciplines . Every single day is a building block for a bigger future. Strive to Become "Strive to Become" taught me that becoming Christlike is a journey. It’s not about being perfect immediately but about making steady, intentional progress , even when the change feels slow. Paradigm Shift Stephen Covey’s principle helped me see that true transformation happens at the paradigm level — how I view myself, others, and my purpose. If I change my perspective, my actions will naturally follow. Leadership by Example Henri’s story showed me ...
